DAS TRIEST is the first design hotel in Vienna, built in 1995, situated in an old coach station once used by travelers going to Trieste in Northern Italy.
Austrian architect Peter Lorenz and British interior designer Sir Terence Conran preserved parts of the original structure, combining elements of imperial elegance with sober lines of the nineteen nineties.
Guests can enjoy the subtle luxury of handcrafted upholstered pieces by design house Wittmann.
The bathrooms have porthole windows, which, along with railings and flag motifs in the rest of the hotel, offer an emotional link to the Adriatic port of Trieste.
